I have a weird question about hair and nails. When they are long, do they take more energy away from you?

When my hair and nails are long, I honestly feel slightly "weaker" so to say. I'm a guy so I keep both short, so when I grow both of them out, I feel like energy is being taken more from the body to maintain them I guess.

Short answer: no. Hair and nails are dead tissue.

No, it's your imagination. By the time your nails and hair have appeared, they're dead. They're being pushed out by the still live nails and hair that haven't yet appeared.

Hair and nails are dead cells. They use no energy.

No, but shorter ones are more hygienic and are not going to harbor tons of nasties from bathrooms or other locations. I worry about some of the cashiers I see with talons in stores, handing things to the public.
