When you return something on Amazon to a third party seller are you refunded both the original shipping cost as well as the item cost?

You're not likely to get the shipping cost back unless the item was damaged during shipping.
You're only going to get the item cost refunded.

Ordinarily, the shipping fee is not refunded automatically. An appeal to the seller (or through Amazon) that the item was returned because it was not as the seller represented it may result in a refund the shipping.

It depends on the shipper.
