Colon cancer or IBS?

I've been having some pretty confusing symptoms since starting college. My family has a history of celiac disease, IBS, and diverticulitis. A few months ago I started seeing blood on the toilet paper after a bowel movement and I was really constipated for about 2 weeks and had a lot of cramps and abdominal pain. My doctor did some blood tests and it came back negative for celiac and my fecal occult blood test also came back negative. After about a week all of my symptoms stopped but I'm about 2 months into second semester and they're back again but without any bleeding. I've been constipated and I've been having a cramping pain in my lower left abdomen. After I eat I get cramps kind of like when you eat and then exercise. Could this be colon cancer or another GI disorder like IBS or gluten intolerance? Thanks in advance :)

It could be a range of things. I'm staying away from Cancer in that there are tests for it, and you probably had them. In IBS you experience cramping and pain along with alternating between constipation and diarrhea when you have flair ups. IBS is not easy to diagnose as the symptoms read like many conditions. However, IBS can be controlled with medication. To relieve some symptoms in OTC meds; try Milk of Magnesia, or Pepto.
