Winter will be here in June as it is every year although you'll have to wait for December in the northern hemisphere. No-one can be as certain about Jesus, he's been keeping everyone waiting for 2000 years and there's no reason to expect any appearance in the next 2000. Trust in winter, it's reliable.

Read Matthew 24:36-39. Of course, God does not approve of blind faith, or credulity. Accordingly, he inspired the Bible writers to record many prophecies that only he, the Almighty, could fulfill. In the past many prophesies were fulfilled. Example: PROPHECIES ABOUT THE MESSIAH AND HIS FOLLOWERS. •Isaiah 9:7 •Micah 5:2 •Isaiah 50:6 •The Messiah would appear 483 years after “the going forth of the word to restore and to rebuild Jerusalem.” That word was given in 455 B.C.E.—Daniel 9:25.
PROPHECIES BEING FULFILLED TODAY. The time of the end would be marked by:•Worldwide preaching of the “good news of [God’s] kingdom.”—Matthew 24:14. •Warfare, even on a global scale, Food shortages.—Mat.24:7; Rev 6:4.•Great earthquakes,Terrible diseases.—Luke 21:11.•Hatred and violence.—Mat 24:10, 12.
•Greedy, self-centered people and money lovers.—2 Tim 3:1-5.
PROPHECIES TO BE FULFILLED.•When Peace & Security,sudden destruction.—1Thes.5:3.
Attack on false religion.—Rev.17. Armageddon—Rev.16:14,16

Maybe another 10,000 years. Why, does it matter? Human life is just a decision, a speed bump on the way to eternity.

Winter is here! It comes every year, just like clockwork.
As for the Second Coming, well every Christian intellectual (and no, that's not an oxymoron) since Jesus himself has desperately wanted to believe he belonged to the last generation, that he would live to see the End of Days, he Apocalypse. Jesus said, dozens of times, that those listening to him would see the end. And Christians really believed that for 30 or 40 or 50 years, until that generation began dying off. Perhaps hundreds or thousands of times since the time of Jesus, Christian leaders have predicted the end on a specific date, or BY a specific date--so far they've all been wrong. That's not to say it will never happen, but considering it's been two millennia so far, it's probably not a good bet that it will happen in our lifetime.
