I have been on several bus tours. All but one was very enjoyable. I don't like to drive far distances and I like meeting new people so bus tours are good for me. Plus you don't have to worry about parking when seeing sights, or worry about hotel reservations, all the details are taken care of.
I highly recommend taking some ear protectors in case you don't want to watch/hear the movie that is played on longer trips, a good book, your own music with ear plugs if you like,. I think it's a good way to see some of the country that maybe you wouldn't otherwise see. I recommend starting out with a very short trip ( one or two days ) to see how well you like it...or not.

Enjoyable until the bus broke down. After that, miserable for the next eight hours until the replacement bus arrived.

I don't do that. I prefer to hike in the nearby wilderness alone. The animals, birds and nature are refreshing.

I took a day trip to shopping places and it was great!

Not me....Perish the thought.
Sitting in a coach packed with silver haired clones that wheeze and cough and need to pee every hour or two is NOT my idea of enjoyment.
I`m 73 by the way, and have not been on bus OR train or boat or plane for over 40 years. I drive my pick-up to wherever I need to go.
But Hey....each to their own I say.🤨.
