How would you feel if your manager says you’re a terrible worker, but you put your best foot forward all the time?
I’m a cashier at a supermarket, and I was texting one of my co-workers, and she said that my manager says I was half of a cashier.. don’t know what that means, but she told me it means that I’m slow or I do a poor job. That’s kind of ****** up, but there are customers who say I do a pretty good job. Is my manager just being a dick?

No. If your store has a no phone policy while you're working, you shouldn't be on your phone texting a co worker while you're working. If you can't put your phone down you can get fired. If you're using your phone while you're working in stead of doing your job, then they will think you're a terrible worker. You're not paying attention to customers. Your boss isn't paying you to be on your phone all the time. Put your phone away in your locker while you're at work and do your job. In my work place a guy was caught twice with his cell phone while he was working. We have a rule against having cell phones on the floor and he was fired for it.
