An iPad 2 or 3 with cellular (due to the dark window on the back). The two generations are almost identical but the iPad 3 is thicker, has the very sharp "Retina" display, a slightly larger camera capable of 1080p, and supports Siri with iOS 6.

If it is able to be powered on check

Settings > General > About

& you should see the model number. From there look it up & it'll tell you which specific iPad it is.

You know, if you look at the small letters, you'll see the model number. It'll be something like "A1432" or something like that. You can look up that model number to identify the iPad model.
However, If I'm not mistaken, there was never an iPad mini with the 30-pin port; they only come with the Lightning port.
