If you go into law enforcement, it is vital that you can put up with being insulted and reviled, without getting upset. If you go home feeling bad because some drunken idiot called you a kosher sausage, it's not for you. Let's face it, even law-abiding citizens are likely to be a little wary when you are around. It's not personal, and most people actually appreciate the police. But you can't depend on others for your self-esteem.
If you want to be a teacher, you need to consider that your politics will be an issue, unless you are pretty left-wing. It's not like the old days when freedom of thought was allowed or even encouraged.
Sorry, I must have a bad attitude. But this may be of some use, so I won't delete it.

It would be better to pursue a career in teaching, so you can teach people how to obey the law and what happens when they don't.
