I let someone get away with being rude?

I was at work and I give out phones for free for people who apply and I walked up to some wanna be cholo and asked if he wanted a free phone and he said no and kept saying things under his breath as I was walking away and I turned around and said what?! and heard him say get the **** out of my face as i was walking back towards him and he said get the **** out of my face again and i was so close to punching him but there were cops down the street and i said ok and kept on walking then and I happen to see him again and asked for directions as an excuse to get close to him as a second chance to punch him but I didn't do it. I regret not doing anything . What would you have done ? Iwas arrested for attempted murder before and I really try and control my actions so do you think I did the right thing by not hitting him?

You did the right thing by not hitting him. Not because you'd have been arrested for assault but because he and his friends likely wouldn't have killed you.

Use your words. I used to do door to door sales and I'd just push these kinds of people super hard for like a minute or two. If he's like "get the **** out of my face" then you be like "are you sure this phone is super cool!" And just go off on how cool the phone is and ignore everything he says. Then after a couple minutes be like "wait do you not want a phone?" And when he says something along the lines of "of course I don't want the ******* phone!" Be like "oh why didn't you just say so?" And walk away.

It's f****** hilarious watching people flip out and just ignoring it and acting like you think they're super into the product.

You were at work.. it's your job to be professional. You can't work a job where you have to approach people to sell things to them if you're going to get upset about people not wanting to hear your sales pitch.
