Best way to secure digital information?
In the case of having sensitive information on a PC hard drive and doing backups periodically, if the situation arises where the PC has a failure and needs service and you can't erase sensitive data on the hard drive, how can you bring the PC in for service and have the data be secure? It seems the only way around this is to always use some external backup storage and never store sensitive data on the hard drive. Any thoughts on this?
I'm using Windows 10 Home edition.
What about just adding a secondary user to the Windows Home PC and just have the maintenance people use the password associated with the secondary user instead? Documents from the admin side are hidden when using a secondary user. Isn't that a possibility?
