To catch a thief - how do I do this?

Several days ago someone stole a pushmower I truly love. Only thing I've ever bought new. It's a very distinctive mower I slaved away to buy.
I hid the mower out of sight in back yard and was only gone 2 hours to attend to an emergency. Came back to cut grass and it was gone.
Made police report w/serial # and detailed description of this unique mower. Called every pawn shop within 20 mile radius an the surrounding small town police departments. The suspected individual comes by my house religiously 5-10 times per day - but whenI asked about the mower, he has not come around my home once. I did not accuse him of taking it. However, he is known to do such things as he is a "landscaper" not one neighbor likes.Passed by him in places we both frequent; he avoids me and is extraordinarily nervous when he sees me. Apparently, he is well known and several neighbors and 1 merchant asked specifically if he had "cruised" by my house alot. I never mentioned his name. And he did "cruise" many times prior to the mower being stolen. Most all his "jobs" are out of town

Done what I can - out of options?

Mower has been seen by at least 2 individuals and came to me ASAP. As said - it's a very distinctive mower. One you never forget once you see it.Spotted same time from different POV at same location as it was being pushed into a make shift shop. Both individuals went w/me to do a follow up report. Suspected person (lives across street) didn't know I overheard and witnessed a late nite conversation between him another person. That person told me about it next morning.

Have someone you know that he doesn't know you know, someone that lives a distance away, call him to do some yardwork and get video of him mowing the lawn with your mower.

Beat him up. Then tell him your going to beat him up every day until the lawn mower is returned.

report this individual's behavior and name to the local police so they can follow up
