My digital thermometer/forecaster is pretty good, but clearly the storm/rain symbols depend more than on just the 10 hour barometer trend. Has the algorithm used by LaCrosse (or competitors) been published any where?

Looks to me like they get data from the National Weather Service and pass it along to their equipment...
