LOL I have had two male dogs that squat to pee.
One was a greyhound, a retired racer; and racing greyhounds, when let out to pee, are with so many other dogs that they can't all get to the fence to pee on it, so they learn to squat instead. Once he was living at our place, he started lifting his leg, except when he was on gravel, in which case he often reverted to the old habit.
My current male dog that doesn't lift his leg is simply not built to balance on 3 legs. His body is broad and muscular, and his legs short, so leg lifting just doesn't work for him. He's plenty masculine though, in his other habits.

When I had dogs, my female squatted while my male lifted his leg, although when he got older he just sort of stretched to pee with all four paws on the ground.

My male jack russel lifts his leg. My female pit squats. But a couple years ago I had a terrier who would lift her leg and my friend has a min pin who’s a male and he squats
