I like some hole in the walls like Joes Cafe in Metairie. They have the best seafood egg rolls and gumbo and good doughnuts too. They have a mixture of items on their menu and they stay open 24/7. To me Praline Connection is a good locals restaurant on Frenchmen street that’s good too and it’s not as pricey. Daisy Dukes has good inexpensive breakfast they serve all day and have a seafood menu as well. I use to live down there in New Orleans but my favorite restaurants aren’t cheap so I won’t suggest those since you asked for inexpensive
