Should I get Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice?

Question

I’ve been interested in this game because of the setting and sword combat but I’m hesitating to get it because I heard it’s extremely difficult. I have never played a souls game. I quit blood borne early in because I was getting destroyed but I also wasn’t nearly as interested in the setting for that game as I am for this. I’ve been looking for a more challenging game after beating Sigrun in god of war 4. But I just don’t want a game that’s so challenging that I’m gonna launch my controller out the window.

Sekiro follows the typical From Soft principal of "hard but fair." Unlike their previous games, though, there's an even heavier emphasis on mastering the combat above all else. Knowing when to counter and side-step blows is absolutely crucial to every encounter, though the fact that you can resurrect a limited number of times in any battle DOES mitigate some of the frustration a bit. Even so, there's still a lot of the same usual trappings that these Soulsborne games are known for, such as hidden traps, enemies that quickly overwhelm you if you aren't prepared, and a story that, while not as vague as Dark Souls, still requires a bit of deduction and interpretation on the player's part to fully grasp.

Personally, I think that if you gave up Bloodborne, Sekiro might not be the game for you. It's a great game, but like Dark Souls and Bloodborne, you have to go in being fully prepared to die a LOT; even the revive mechanic only takes you so far if you can't "git gud," as they say. The choice is ultimately yours, though.
