IRA paperwork can be complicated but if you have the correct paperwork you can do it.
I have used shared banking many times. You just need your account number and drivers license. But, my IRA is at one place and I don't move It around. (Fidelity)
Some credit unions have restrictions on new customers using shared branch so ask before doing it.
I have never had a problem but have read that others have.

There is paperwork to be filled out for any IRA withdrawal or transfer. You cannot do it electronically.
