my cat has breathing/allergy type issues that are suppressed when she is in heat only. The vet says it's not allergies, I've gave her antibiotics a few times over the years for months at vet's recommendations of believing it to be an infection due to her sneezing and nasal discharge with benefit the only thing that stops it is her going in to heat. It doesn't bother her as stupid as that sounds she still runs around and plays not a care in the world, but to me it sounds awful and i feel bad.

Not sure I understand your question but I assume you are talking about your dog.

Allergies are suppressed when our own natural steroids are at work. When in heat or pregnant (this applies to people too) our own natural anti-inflammatory steroids are at their highest level and thus inflammation is suppressed and asthma/allergies get better. Its a way of suppressing our own immune system to better make sure we don't attack our own fetus (the body sees the fetus as an invader).
