If your bottom didn't actually touch his face then it was an assault. But if your bottom touched his face then you both assaulted each other. And if you were smothering him so he couldn't breathe it was self-defence.
Unless he was actually in danger of suffocation he was wrong to do what he did. But that doesn't make it "abuse".Just think: would we call it abuse if he stuck his bottom in your face and you slapped him?
