Help with dilution?

I have this concentration - 20mg of salt in 50ml of water. If I dilute it in 1 liter of water - what's the mg/l of salt I'm left with?

20mg in 50 ml

becomes 20mg in 1050 ml (1.05 litres)

This is 20000/1050 = 19.05 mg per litre.

You have exactly the same mass of salt . That is 20mg
The final solution will be 20mg/L.
That is assuming you meant to say that you dilute the 50mL to 1.0L
But if you do as you seem to say - add a further 1.0L water to the 50mL
 Then
 Final volume = 50mL + 1.0L(1,000mL)  = 1050mL
 20mg in 1050mL solution = 20mg*1000mL / 1050mL = 19mg/L
