Need help. Pizza shop stole from us.?
I ordered food delivery from a privately owned pizza store with my last money we have to our names to last me and my mother 4 days until we get our Social Security. When I called and gave the owner my debit card to pay over the phone and when he asked for my zip code he reversed a number in the zip code resulting in the card being declined but still making an authorization hold on my card for the purchase amount. He refused to help us in any way even though it was his fault. He just kept on saying the hold will fall off in a few business days. Now we are left with no money and no food...he just said to call back when we have more money. So I am asking what recourse do we have for tonight? Can we call the police and the police can help us somehow? Cause isn t what he did theft? We need help ASAP. BTW, we have no car to get anywhere and we have no friends or family or neighbors to ask for help and we literally don t have a bread crumb in the house and don t even have a nickle anywhere.
We ordered enough food for the 4 days. And my card is a US direct express card. I called them all day and recording says they are busy and try again another time.
It is his fault my money was taken off the card. How is this not theft? If I went into his store and stole food and ran out the door, the police would be on me in seconds.
We will have money on Tuesday when me and my mom get our Social Security. And it's Friday night so the welfare office isn't going to do us any good.
Damien. Actually it is $107. We ordered enough food for 4 days. I got the SSI portion of my money today and used that. I normally get it on 1st and me and my mom get our SSDI on the 3rd. And we only have money for a few days of the month. We are broke so we don't have $100 to around. And before you say we should havebought groceries with the $107, well we have no car and no way to get to a grocery store. No bus nearby either. We rent a car to buy food and do errands on every 3rd of the month.
Steven F. I have proof that they put an authorization hold on my card. I have the transaction history stored in my phone and I copied it on paper too. The store owner said it was declined on their end.
