You bring a dish to a party, and it goes untouched.  Are you offended? ?

You go to a holiday party with family and friends. It is a party where everyone has to bring a dish or supply something like drinks.  The food is being served buffet style.  You are asked to make a dish, and nobody touches your dish by the time everyone is done eating.  Are you offended?

Yeah..if I make food I want people to eat it. I don't want it to just sit there but hey I can't cook anyways!

Not so much offended as curious about what made my dish unattractive. Fun story. My wife went to a pot luck and took potato salad. She bought the salad from Sam's Club, but put it in a bowl, added extra mustard then served it in a dish. At the end of the meal, it was all gone, but the potato salads in plastic clam shell cartons were untouched. I'm assuming that's because the salad in a bowl appeared to have been made with personal effort. So try just changing the presentation and see how it works out.

I have never taken a dish home that wasn't empty so I wouldn't know.

No, not at all. Sometimes I'm happy because I get to bring it back home and enjoy it myself. lol I'm Baptist and Baptist love to eat so I'm often making dishes for gatherings. I always make something I know I'll eat and also my family will eat some of it too. So if it gets brought back home it is just one less thing I need to make.
