As hyped as the amg platform is, I still prefer the layout of the Ford Aston Martin partnership.
If I were to buy a brand new Aston Martin vantage, (just for the looks) could I swap the motor back to the old Ford motor, and even go a step further by possibly using the manual transmission from the mustang or some other Aston Martin?

Ford never used their corporate engines in any Aston Martin A swap to a 2007 Mustang engine would be very impractical.
