Could I get some suggestions for a tasty and appealing potluck dish to share with people I don't know?

My daughter and I plan to attend an all-day drop-in adoption event/fundraiser for the city dog rescue from which my dog was adopted.

The only *admission cost* (if it could even be considered such) is to bring a potluck (or covered dish) food item to share with those who attend. Everyone contributes, everyone eats.

Suggestions for a dish that could be made a day ahead and then reheated (if necessary) on the day of? Appetizers, salads, and desserts are fine, too. It can be kept hot or cold in transport but will be sitting out for several hours once we reach the event venue.

All suggestions and/or recipes are welcome, and thank you!

green bean casserole, broccoli casserole, vegetarian lasagna, deviled eggs, fruit pizza, veggie pizza, layered desserts are always the best, lemon pie, strawberry cake, fruit salad with honey drizzle, pigs in blanket, asparagus wrapped in bacon, fruit bowl and dip, vegetable platter with dip, chicken with wings, Macaroni and cheese, brownies, baked chicken or fried chicken, homemade chips with salsa, strawberry salad, chocolate mouse, carrots cooked with honey, corn on the cob, chick pea salad, cobb salad, rainbow cake, my favorite is rainbow bread people always seemed to be amazed with the colors at parties, chocolate cake, blueberry muffins, make your own juices with different flavors, turkey baked, my favorite is mini meatballs you can add smashed potatoes and gravy to the top. People seem to love that their so small and you get enough of them, pasta, shrimp cocktails, homemade breadsticks, cinnamon rolls, a bunch of different kinds of cookies or one kind.

Go to a wholesale club and buy one of those gigantic containers of potato salad. Then to the dollar store for a big plastic bowl. Take them home, wash the bowl and dump the potato salad in it. Add about a half cup of salad mustard (the hot dog kind) and mix thoroughly. Refrigerate overnight and proudly set it out. When you leave t he event, leave the bowl, but take your spoon home.  Works every time.

If desserts are good I would make cookies.  I am not one to make cut out cookies but for this I think cookies in the shape of people and dogs as well as the typical dog-bone shape.
I would even make some that are dog friendly that people can eat as well.  Lots of recipes on line for them.
(or so there is no confusion make the people shape cookies for dogs and make the dog and bone shape for people and label them so people know what ones are what)
