If I take out the SIM card will iMessage still work?

Question

So I’m using an iPhone without a SIM card in it. If I buy a temporary SIM card, use it to active iMessage with my Apple ID and then take out the SIM card, will iMessage still work? Or do I need to keep a SIM card in it at all times.

Also, I don’t know if this helps, but I’m using an iPhone 6.

As long as you have a WiFi connection, iMessage will work.

You can as long as you first sync phone with wifi. Once do that can remove sim and use phone with the wifi
