What are the consequences of lying about your age to a record label?

I'm a 25 year old musician. Say if a label was interested and they asked how old I was, if I lied and said 22 and they eventually find out I'm 25 would that really be grounds to terminate my contract?

I say the same thing every time you ask this.  You really think you can enter into a binding contract using the wrong age?  You don't think the "label" has attorneys and/or fact checkers?

I'd say it would depend on the wording of the contract. If it specified your age (which was wrong because you'd lied about it) or said that the contract was based on everything you'd told them being true (and they could prove you'd lied about your age) then yes, that would grounds to terminate your contract. I guess you could even be sued for fraud.

That, of course, assumes that the label wanted to terminate your contract. If they did, they'd find a way of doing it anyway.

Doing what you suggest though would be crazy! Why would you even think of it?

What would be the point of saying you are 22?
