What's the difference between what happened with the swine flu and what's going on now with the corona virus?

The novel coronavirus is more deadly, and far more contagious. Also, there is no vaccine and no cure for it.
There is no cure for the swine flu, but many people have antibodies to it (having been exposed to it, or to a similar virus) and it is not nearly as contagious nor as deadly as the coronavirus is.

More people die with this one.

The Swine Flu caused a lot more deaths in a shorter amount of time than covid-19 has. The Swine Flu is also a flu, covid-19 is not a flu it's a common cold / resperatory infection virus. There was also a vaccine developed and released within 7 months of the H1N1 (Swine Flu) outbreak. C-19 was discovered in December of 2019. We're closing in on the 7 month time frame.

Other differences are facts like H1N1 resulted in nearly 90% of the people that became infected died. C-19's death rate is still only around 2% of the people that become infected. There was only a 10% chance a person would recover from the Swine Flu until the vaccine was released and there's more than a 98% chance people infected with cronovirus fully recover.

The symptoms are another large difference. H1N1 symptoms were like a horrible flu. A person infected was miserable and usually vomiting, no one (that I have heard about at least) is nausiated and vomiting from covid-19. C-19's symptoms are the same as minor to mild cold symptoms. Some people infected with "KungFlu" (coronavirus) don't even know they have it because it just feels like they have a cold.

Swine Flu killed nearly 580,000 people in 7 months. Covid-19 has only claimed a very small fraction of that so far, barely 11,500 people have perished from c-19 in the same amount of time. Healthy people perished from a swine flu infection, the only people dying from KungFlu are people that get infected who already have an underlying condition that causes their immune system to be weak.

Corona is a lot more contagious and dangerous.
