So I just got a new pair of pants, they are jogger sweatpants & kind of a weird material. I’ve worn them A lot since I got them & ive noticed I have a rash right where the waist of the pants sit. Is it something to worry about? I’ve been putting on lotion and haven’t worn the pants since.

Are they too tight or you may have developed contact dermatitis from the materials that it is made from that you are allergic to?
Probably nothing to worry about, it should go away on its own. It could've been you're allergic to the material of the pants or the band was irritating your skin from friction or heat, possibly the pants had harsh chemicals on them from the factory and it caused a skin reaction. Many possible factors, just wash the pants and after the rash subsides try them out again if you want. If the rash doesn't go away soon, see your doc. I wouldn't put lotion on the rash since you don't know the cause of it, if you use anything- hydrocortisone is a safe bet for most generic rashes if it itches or is bothering you. If it isn't bothering you don't put anything on it just let it heal on its own.
