English vs American soap opera question, i finally on youtube of English soaps like Eastlands,why is there more crime/violent acts on them?

i seen alot more rapes on eastenders and Coronation Street than American soaps. what is wrong with the English writers for even thinking show more in england than usa?

1. UK soaps are shown in the Evening ( between 6-8pm) so Ratings play a Big part.


Do you mean usa Daytime soaps or comparing them to usa night soaps like Grey's Anatomy?
