Ever Met One Of Your Musical Heroes?
Who was it and how did it go? Big disappointment or best day of your life?
Thanx

I met Brian Eno in Tokyo in 85 at art gallery he had some sort of "installation" to experience. He produced Talking Heads, Roxy Music, U2, I think some Bowie along with his own. Really smart innovative guy. It was an afternoon, only white guy in there, not a lot of people so just went up and introduced myself after asking if he was Brian. Unpretentious, approachable as anyone. Asked if he was going to make another album with David Byrne like "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts" as I recall. He said probably not. Probably a few other subjects I've forgotten over the years

I've been to comic con many times but i've never met any people in the musical field. Sadly many of the very talented are deceased. If I could meet anyone that's living... i would meet David Gilmour, Robert Plant, Shooter Jennings, Sting, Lana Del Rey, Britney Spears and Neil Young

Every time I've ever met a band/artist - I've been very lucky that it's been a great experience - the musicians have been fantastic.
The only negative experience was the FALSE advertising the meet and greet company used (Adventures in Wonderland). My sister bought me the 'Golden Ticket' for a birthday present (it was EXPENSIVE, something I could never afford). Was supposed to have stage access during show, food and intimate meet and greet with photo opp. Food was M&M's (plain, because can't have peanuts in public) and crackers (no cheese), water, Coke or Sprite. And we were denied access to food stand because venue wasn't OFFICIALLY opened yet (I didn't eat because we were SUPPOSED to have food). The meet and greet was: stand in a line, don't get too close to band members/stay in designated area, NO photos, except the single one THEY took (no second chance photos and mine came out awful, even my husband said it was a bad picture). Oh, and couldn't find the lady who was supposed to take me to side of stage for main show - it was half over before she showed her face. I'd done other meet and greets which were what this basically was - and even though my sister paid the extra THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS the experience was not as they advertised - why pay extra money if it's the same as regular M&G?! Just saying.
Called company, and even though they screwed up, they wouldn't even give partial refund. Will NEVER do business with them (or whatever name they go by now).

I have met the guys in Cheap Trick a few times. They are always super nice to their fans. Robin hugged me once, which was awesome.
Also, I could have talked to Steve Tyler of Aerosmith, but I was too chicken. He seemed like a regular guy.

I've been lucky enough to meet lots of musicians. The lead singer of The Real McKenzies is probably one of the coolest dudes I've met. At their shows, he regularly wanders out of the green room and out into the venue to mingle. Last time two times we saw them, he sat and drank beers and chatted with us for a while. The dude is unreal -- he's got to be in his late 50s, but he's got the energy of a teenager. I don't know how, but he not only kept up with us, he outpaced us. LOL
The Dollyrots are simply awesome with their fans. After their sets, they jump off the stage and wander out into the crowd to hang with their fans. My wife and I ended up talking with Kelly (their singer) for quite a while at one of their shows, and she signed all of our loot. Super cool, and really took the time to interact with the fans.
Sabrina Stewart was the same way. She hung out and drank with us for the entire opening set until her band had to go on. She was really down to Earth.
I've met The Interrupters twice, albeit briefly, and they all seemed very nice.
I honestly can't say that I've met any professional musicians that were stuck-up @$$h01es or anything like that.
