If I see an invasive species should I kill it?

I live in Washington state where our invasive species of bugs have made international news. Specifically I'm talking about Gypsy moths, I don't think I could take on a murder hornet. I like bugs and I always keep an eye out for them whenever I'm outside. I really want to see a Gypsy moth in person because they are really scary and cool looking. If and when I do find one, should I kill it because it's an invasive species? I'm sure I could... I've seen some huge moths before that I can get with a couple stomps from my boots. What else am I supposed to do? They don't teach this in school...

Don't kill anything you don't know about. Honeybees are also invasive. We're trying to protect them. Gypsy moths, okay.
