Why are people more happy to talk on the phone or reply to a text message , rather than just talking to people in real life?

Since the PC, cell phones, people have lost the social skill of one on one communicating. Its a wonder that people even date or get married anymore. More and more people are becoming shy when face to face with other. Need to leave the cell phones at home. Learn social skills...Show more

In some cases it's geographic distancing driving this.  In other cases, it's people who don't have (and will probably never have) the appropriate social skills, and/or they're afraid of in-person meeting.  It's as if everyone forgot that those interpersonal communication skills are important....Show more
