That’s not my problem go see your vet. I’m a vet but I’m not just gonna help you for free

I´m not trained to treat or diagnose skin conditions being a Shepherd:
But both Vets and Dermatologists are trained to do exactly that.... Though I only know one vet that can herd sheep anything like well.
As for Dermatologists ive never seen one try to herd sheep in all honesty.

My elderly dog has the same thing. Her skin on one side is pink but on her other side large black patches have obviously started to be there at some point. I only noticed because she had to be shaved by a groomer. Who pointed out to me her skin was becoming black and flaky one side of her body but not the other.
My vet thought it was just hyper pigmentation and dry skin since it's improved after putting moisturizer on it. But she took some skin samples and I'm waiting to hear the results.
So best to ask your vet even just for peace of mind.

There are so many 'skin problems in dogs' that it takes a Vet to diagnose just what it is. To me it just looks like a sore of some kind & I would treat it for that. but to know exactly what it is will take a Vet to diagnose it. google, skin problems in dogs & then click 'images' at the top of the page. Go through to see if you can find what looks like the same thing on your dog.

You need to get it examined and checked by a vet as it could be several things, such as ' food allergies', mites, yeast infection even natural aging....
