My car (1999 Hyundai Accent GS Hatchback) is almost 21 years old and has almost 92,000 miles on it! You think it's best years are behind?

Your Accent's best years are indeed behind it, but, unless you live in or near 'the rust belt', where frame rot will destroy it no mater how well you maintain it, there's no reason not to get another 10 years or so, out of it.

Yo can get to 500,000 miles IF ou use PENNZOILU ULTRA PLATINUM full synthetic oil and do a DEEP CLEANING of the SENSORSS and CHANGE ALL the fluids INCLUDING old DARK BROWN brake fluid that wil ROT the brake hoses and lines unless PROPERLY FLUSHED and CHANGED!NEVER use VALVOLINE< an oil NO FACTORY wil use as it causes DETERIORATION issues over time! PENNZOIL is MADE from NATURAL GAS and PREVENTS failing components and gives a 500,000 mile WARRANTY! Get your FRAME CHECKED OU for RUST and you can STOP THE RUS easily with a proper RUST PREVENTATIVE! CHANGING all the FLUIDS is part of ANY car maintenance program! INSTALL a set of DENSO TWIN TIP IRIDIUM LASER PLULGS! get an EXHAUST exama nd SUSPENSION exam! ALWAYS CHECK any car for BAD tie rods ends and BALL JOINT and CONTROL ARM bushings! IF the steerin wheel begins to go sideays, GET ALIGNMENTS! Use GREEN TIRES also known as FUEL EFFICIENT TIRES that lAst the LONGEST! use TIRE RACK for TIRES and BRAKE PAD needs! GOOD LUCK!!

The best years were behind that car in 2002. It's a dated old cronk that should be scrapped and recycled.
