Community service question ?

I had to do 24 hours of community service my hours were done today however I didn’t know if this was legal I’d ethical in anyway I had explained to them I only had to do 2 hours today so when the 2 hours were up I went to sign out for my community service but here’s where the issue comes along the lady working there got mad I wasn’t able to wash some dishes in the 2 hours I was there I had explained to her I was cleaning cat cages I also had to sweep and mop the room I was in she demanded that I do extra work basically I kept explaining that I’m done with my hours so I won’t be going over that time We kept going back and forth for a few mins till she got pissed off and almost refused to sign for my community service hours can someone explain if this is ethical or legal in anyway??

For anyone wondering what I had to do in the 2 hours I had to clean 10 cat cages wipe them down get the cats out of them clean their litter boxes then replace it with new ones same with food and water but it took so long cause I had to clean them individually I also had to clean 30 food and water bowls by the time I was finished with everything my hours were up

What matters is that you fulfilled the two hours of community service you had to do today by diligently doing the work that was assigned to you.  The fact there was more work to do than you could have reasonably accomplished in those two hours is NOT your fault.  You cannot be expected to do unpaid and uncredited overtime at a place where you are not even a salaried employee.

Of course, this assumes that you were diligently doing your assigned tasks for these two hours, which makes me wonder if this lady would agree with your assessment?  Anyways, my point is that she has no legal or ethical right to expect anything more of you than for you to put in your agreed upon two hours of hard work.
