Can someone sue my job for getting the coronavirus?

Here's some backstory: So today I had just received the news that one of my coworkers could possibly have the coronavirus, and we all wear masks at my job but there is still a possibility of myself getting the virus. So with that, I told my friends today to get themselves tested just in case I come out positive with the virus. Which this then leads me to my main question...

Could my friends sue my job for them getting the coronavirus? Or could they even sue me?

My friends father had told her that if she comes out positive for getting the virus they would be suing my job. Which this doesn't make any sense due to the virus passing through me. So I don't think they would win any form of lawsuit with my job, only those who were working there such as myself and my coworkers. Could they even sue my job for this or is it that there is nothing they can do due to there being too many ways of getting the virus?

I am just not sure of this whole thing and if someone could help me get a better understanding of this.

There is NO WAY they could even get INTO court against your employer unless they were physically at the workplace.

Even then, as long as the employer was complying with whatever the CDC and/or local government officials were recommending, they are generally not liable for contracting infectious diseases. The legal issue is 'gross negligence'. Unless they did something to spread the disease, or failed to take reasonable steps to prevent it, they are not liable.

It would be even HARDER to successfully sue you. Proving you didn't get it from her would be nearly impossible, even if it could be proven one of you transmitted it to the other.

Your friend's father knows nothing of the law and is just spouting nonsense.

In the US, you can pretty much sue anybody for anything. If your claim is too frivolous, you wouldn't be able to find an attorney to represent you (attorneys can lose their license if they file a completely frivolous lawsuit), it will get dismissed before it even sees the light of a courtroom, and you'll likely end up having to pay the other party's attorney costs.
