Are people with Epilepsy  considered special needs?

Special needs in the US is defined as a difficulty that causes and individual to require additional specialized services or accommodations; e.g. educational or recreational.

I don't see that anything special needs to be done other than some people using a specially trained dog who knows when a child is going to have a seizure.

I worked with a guy for over ten years who had grand mal seizures.  He needed nothing done in regards to special services or accommodations.  The staff was just told to make sure to move anything which could harm him while having a seizures; I witnessed several of his seizures over the years.

Whether or not the child would be recognized by the court system as being special needs child, I would say you should get yourself an attorney....Show more
