Closing eyes before kissing? ?

We were in close proximity and the tension was high, he kept staring at my eyes then lips and repeated this and his voice went all soft. He then asked me to close my eyes. He also claims we are just friends and nothing serious will happen between us. Do guys normally do this before kissing though- ask you to close your eyes?

No, they do not normally do this .. but this is not an abnormal behavior either.

I prefer the eyes to be closed. i don't know why but i feel it's something romantic to close your eyes and indulge deeply in the kissing than staring at each others' eyes in such close distance.
