Acceleration ?
A small rocket has a mass of 1.49 kg. The rocket is fired from a high platform but its engine fails to burn properly. The rocket gains a total upward force of only 10.2 N. At what rate and in what direction is the acceleration?

which way is it pointed? that matters....
I'll assume upwards
weight is 1.49 x 9.8 = 14.6 N
since the force is less than the weight, it will go nowhere, just sit on the ground. or on this "high platform"
Unless that "high platform" is high enough that g reduces to about 6.7 m/s², which would be about 1500 km high.
