Could be both. Or it could legitimately be depression. People who are suffering from it often have a hard time connecting to others for number of reasons. It's normal.
Respect her space and feelings and move on.

sounds like this has nothing to do with you. stop making yourself the center of everything. when i'm depressed, i ignore people too. be glad she even got back to you telling you why she ignored you. most just ghost and you'd never know.
