How to survive college costs?

My dream has always been to be a doctor , as I’m watching the costs rack up I’m starting to think it may be an impossible task. My room alone is 12k not to mention the 4K non optional food plan, 30k tuition , and books that are 100-200$ ( I have 7 classes). I’m in class 9-9 3 days a week and I’m not sure how I’m going to find work around my schedule. I only qualify for $609 Financial aid, and the scholarships provided are barley enough . Is their any hope American politicians will help this issue? Or am I
Going to end up homeless while pursuing education . It’s just frustrating the only way to succeed in this country is by having money to start off with.

This isn't necessarily an issue that politicians need to address. Students need to do a better job of evaluating costs and determining what they can afford before enrolling. Why are you attending a school with tuition of $30k a year for your undergraduate studies? And one that has such high living costs? In-state students living on-campus at my university pay less than $20k a year; those who can live at home incur only about $8500 in tuition costs for the year. There are plenty of options like that available to most students.

Time to get student loans. If you are an undergraduate, you might want to look at transferring to a public university in your home state -- they tend to be well under the $45K/year you are currently paying.
