Pay for delete? Credit Card?

So I have a late payment on a credit card from Capital One, it was in August 2020 and it was the only late payment that I have made. I have since paid off my balance and the account is now closed. Would it be possible to send a pay for delete letter to Capital One to request for it to be removed from my credit report, and if so do you think that they would honor it. Or should I try calling the customer service department before I send a letter to them?

Or should I send a request for goodwill adjustment and hope that they would honor it. The late payment has affected my credit score and dropped it almost 30 points, because I have a vey thin file (only this account and a unsecured loan that I just opened). Any other ways that I could try to up my credit score.

You already paid though.  Call and ask for sure.

Call first.  Talk to someone about what's needed.

No.  Once you've already paid, it's too late.  You can't pay them to delete something.  A "pay for delete" means that you pay money you already owe in return for them saying that they will try to delete it (but usually not deleting it).
