People do not vanish into thin air. Greeks destroyed Hittite Empire, but I do not think they destroyed or could destroy Hittite DNA. Most propbably, people kept living after that, might be in groups or scattered around in Anatolia, and their DNA must be somewhere in the DNA pool of people living in Turkey, namely the Turks.
