Can't decide what between a van or a sedan?

I want to buy a Mazda. .
I like vans because the higher sitting. ( You're a little bit more elevated from the ground) And it's more roomier.
So I thought I might like a Mazda van. Mazda vans usually cost a little more and I'm afraid they may have mechanical issues.
I was considering hashbacks. I also see so many low priced Mazda sedans and they are perfect looking, reliable and have no problems with them. They are also probably better with gas.
I'm thinking maybe I should buy one of those but I might miss the higher sitting view you get from a van. I'm so conflicted

The logical question is, do you actually NEED the functionality of a van? That should be your primary concern. Do you need the room? Are you willing to put up with more difficult parking, worse gas mileage, and a larger interior that is harder to heat and cool? A larger passenger capacity often means higher insurance rates too. Those are the trade-offs.
.
I've owned a van continuously for 40 years because I do need the room, the ability to haul large items out of the weather, the flexibility to camp in it when I want to, and of course it's very useful for moving, and I've moved a lot in my life. Yes, vans provide better visibility for the driver but if that's all you need, either get a small SUV, or learn not to follow so close behind other traffic. |You can see a lot better when you stop tailgating.
