EPM treatment?

I’m currently trying to find information on toltrazuril 5% solution treatment for epm. I mainly just need to know if anyone has used this paste before, how effective was it, what dosage was used, and for how long? My horse is a 15 yr old pinto pony gelding standing at 14.1hh and weighing about 900-1000 lbs. The toltrazuril solution I’ve been looking at isn’t compounded with dmso and I don’t want it to be compounded. I can’t seem to find the answers to my questions on google. He has mild symptoms as of now but they’re very slowly getting worse. He’s on a very specifically thought out diet that covers all key ingredients he might be lacking from his grass/hay. My vet only offers marquis for epm treatment so I can’t turn to him for these questions. I’m trying to test out my cheaper options before  spending $1300 on marquis. I did treat him last year with rebalance for a full 30 days but it didn’t make a difference. If anyone has any experience with epm and toltrazuril 5%, I will greatly appreciate your advice. TIA

You stopped the Rebalance too soon. The minimum treatment period for that medication is 90 DAYS, not 30. You have to keep it up for at LEAST 3 months before you will see any change or improvement. The horse that I lost last year had EPM in addition to having cancer, and we treated HIM with Rebalance. If you READ THE LABEL on the bottles, it will TELL YOU that you must administer the drug for 90 DAYS.

Rebalance is very effective against EPM when it is used correctly for the right length of time. Stop it too soon, however, and the horse will relapse. That happened with my horse before anyone realized he had cancer. Once we did, though- it was too late. Our vet told us that she has had great success with Rebalance. Another thing you need to make sure you do is put your horse on a Vitamin E supplement while he's being treated for EPM. The Vitamin E will help to prevent complications from developing. Our vet recommended this, too.
