Will a 30 Year Old disabled dependent qualify for next stimulus payments?

Unable to work. Parents receive SSI to take care of me and claimed as a dependent on parents taxes. The 1st two excluded someone like me. Saw something online I may be eligible for the 3rd and retroactive for the first 2.

I sure I will not get anything personally they will get it in the same way they have gotten the others just for me

I did qualify this time $1400 for all three but all deposited into one account just like I thought.

Its impossible to predict whether or not there will even be a 3rd stimulus payment or what the details *might* be if it actually happens.

There is some talk that they want to make the payment for dependents apply to ALL dependents, not just children under 17. But they "talked" about that before the first stimulus, and "talked" about fixing it for the 2nd stimulus and yet neither of those ended up including dependents age 17+. When it came time to actually finalize the bill, they took the easy approach and just copied the legal definitions from the child tax credit which ends at age 17.

If there is a 3rd stimulus payment and IF they change the rules so that adult dependents are included then its extremely unlikely (in my opinion) that you would receive money directly. The more likely scenario (IMO) is that your parents would receive the dependent money on your behalf. They could spend that money on you or give you some of it, but they would have no obligation to do so.

There is a BAD article floating around that suggests dependents file and claim themselves so they can get the two payments.  THIS IS ILLEGAL.  If someone *can* claim you, you can't  do this.

No.  Dependents are not eligible for the stimulus money.
YOU receive SSI and your parents are your payee.  They determine how the money is spent.

No.  Why would you qualify for an income tax credit?    You do not pay income tax, nor do you support yourself.
