Well, for me, the answer would be closer to C, because there are emissions from gasoline vehicles that are undesirable that do not come from combustion of hydrogen. I personally don't find CO2 to be a major undesirable emission, but I suspect in this situation, you are being taught that CO2 is bad so therefore something which produces CO2 ought to be less desireable.  I worry more about the various  PAHs and other organic compounds produced by the incomplete combustion of gasoline and diesel fuels.

In other words, the answer to the question lies in the one choice that indicates a problem with one or the other options, rather than the good of the favored option.  That is, the good comes from not doing something, rather than doing something.

It isn't a very good question as written.

what a stupid question.

The answer is that gasoline-vehicles emit carbondioxide and a bunch of nasty chemicals but hydrogen-vehicles don't.

B) is true but only a part of the truth

C) is not correct, as gasoline-vehicles do not emit hydrogen-gas
