If you can document that you are permanently and totally disabled, then federal student loans can be discharged (meaning you don't have to pay them back). You must apply for this and provide significant documentation of your inability to work and earn a living because of your diagnosis.

MMM...Nope, not usually. Isn't that a radical way out? I mean, who's going to hire a rocket scientist that's certified crazy?

If you tried to complete college or uni, and you found that your medical condition was too much for you and you had to drop out or are thinking that you won't be able to continue or finish, then speak with the finance department of your school and see what they have to say. You will definitely need to have a doctor in on this as well, as they are not just going to take your word for it.
If you are all done school and want to know if your student loans can be forgiven just because you have schizophrenia then no. You don't deserve to have a free education just because you have a medical condition. Thousands and thousands complete their education and honor their debts while dealing with their issues, you can too.
