Why does one of my laptops blow out much hotter air than the other?

I have 2 laptops, a dell latitude e6520 and the other is an Inspiron that’s a couple years newer. They were both originally windows 7, now have windows 10, both have an i5 processor, the latitude’s is slightly faster. 

When I run my latitude, the fan will blow out very warm air, and seems to blow out a lot more air than the Inspiron. The inspirons air doesn’t feel near as warm. They are both completely clean inside, and I’ve got the overclock function on my latitude turned off.

Is there a reason it would feel much hotter?

different heat sink in the design?  difference in amount of heat generated?  difference in volume of air flow?

There are two reasons I can think of.

1.  The Latitude is older, and thus when running the same work, the CPU will have to work harder to keep up.  This means it will get hotter and the fan will need to speed up to blow out more exhaust heat.

2.  The Power settings on both maybe different.  You may have the power settings on the Latitude set for high performance, while the Inspiron may be set for less performance and more battery savings.  This would result in the Inspiron's CPU running slower and thus cooler.
