Can interviewers say the N-word?

In one show with Samuel Jackson, a white interviewer asked him something about the N-word? Jackson pretending not understanding... "What N-word? None? Neither? Nor?" And he asked (nicely, without aggression) that white guy to say the N-word... The interviewer refused in fear... So they wrapped it up in a joke... So, what it would be for him if he said this N-word as Jackson asked him? Would he be fired? Would people start hating him for that? Jackson like gave him some kinda permission to say it... So what it would be meant for him?

If I can not say the nword, then minorities are not allowed to call me whitey or any number of other names THEY use to insult us. Equality.
