UPS is a regular small company like FedEx and Airborne.

UPS is a private company which has incentive to get things delivered on time. USPS is a quasi government agency which looses tons of money through typical government inefficiency and waste and delivers your package or letter much later than their tracking system seems to suggest. There are few things that the private sector can no and does not do better than the government.
